snippet: The original intent was to follow the drainage pattern and modify the location of the line work of the NHDPlus data while maintaining the original connectivity. However this was not always possible for the following reasons. 1. In two cases the line work provided by the USGS NHDPlus incorrectly crossed over a ridge into another watershed creating a stream connection that didn’t exist. In both cases the incorrect line work was corrected by removing the connection to the stream in the neighboring watershed and confining the incorrect segment to the correct watershed. 2. In several cases the configuration of the stream network was incorrect. In these cases the line work was altered to reflect current drainage patterns. In both cases new splits to the original line work had to be introduced to the data, which may render the data unsuitable for some of the USGS stated purposes. In some cases data from outside the scope of the Sonoma Veg Map LiDAR data coverage area was added where it provided a logical extension or connection to the stream network in the project area. In general these additions do not have the same spatial accuracy as the LiDAR derived data.
