Service Description: This stream layer is in the process of being rectified to the County of Sonoma 2011 aerial imagery. Metadata relating to the County of Sonoma 2011 aerials can be found under the Reference Files section on the Vector Data page of the County of Sonoma's GIS Data Portal located at https://gis.sonoma-county.org/catalog.asp County of Sonoma GIS Central contact information: Tim Pudoff, GIS Manager Information Systems Department - Systems and Programming 2615 Paulin Drive Santa Rosa, CA 95403 Phone/Voice mail: (707) 565-1941 E-mail: gis@sonoma-county.org The names of the streams are also in the process of being updated/corrected.
The current rectification status of the stream segments are represented by the "Rectified" field. Please see the field defintions for more information. The stream layer was originally acquired by the Sonoma County Water Agency from the County of Sonoma GIS Central. In August of 2005, inquiries were made to the GIS/IDS department at the County of Sonoma as to the lineage of the layer. The GIS department provided the HYD_USGSSTRM.xml as the source of the layer.

Original data set came from the County of Sonoma Central GIS. The rectification process, stream naming reconciliation and classification is an ongoing process undertaken by the Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA) and was initiated by Andrew Stinnett. The Water Agency GIS staff is the major contributor and continues to do so at the time of this entry.

Subject: The initial purpose is to more accurately represent stream centerlines relative to the County's 2011 aerial imagery rectified to NAD 83. This will then be used for a multitude of purposes in the Agency's stream maintenance program.
